1997 Ford Taurus LX Subwoofer enclosure, subwoofer amplifier, false trunk floor, upgrade interior speakers. The client wanted better quality sound than the stock system, and upgraded the head unit, interior speakers, and added an amplifier and subwoofer. There were a few iterations of the sub enclosure (including a possible Fiberglass Enclosure), and location of the amplifier. In the end, the amplifier was mounted to a panel that separated the trunk and passenger area, and the subs were installed in a custom MDF enclosure.
1998 Mitsubishi Galant Subwoofer enclosure, subwoofer amplifier, 4 channel amplifier, capacitor, false trunk floor, facade for subwoofer, in dash video, upgrade interior speakers. The client wanted a complete audio/video system upgrade, and the first system is shown. The client wanted to incorporate the Mitsubishi logo into the install and have some hidden storage space for items such as windshield washer fluid, jumper cables, etc. Later the client wanted better bass performance and upgraded to a dual sub, dual amp system, which was capable to perform to spl levels above 145 dB.
2004 Saturn Ion Subwoofer box, amplifier, false trunk floor. The client wanted to add a subwoofer system to his vehicle, and reinforce the trunk floor. The enclosure for the sub box had to be built within the correct volume specs for the subs that were going into it. The trunk floor had to accomodate the sub box, and still allow access to the spare tire and the battery. The amplifier had a tendency to overheat, so small fans were added to help combat this.
2004 Toyota Tundra 4 Door Subwoofer box, amplifier, upgrade head-unit. The client wanted a more complete sound to his vehicle without sacrificing any interior space. At first we installed two 8" subwoofers under the rear seat, but the client wanted better control and bluetooth connectivity with his mobile phone, so we upgraded the head-unit. The customer had visited many local car audio shops and was told they would not be able to install subwoofers in the cab since they couldn't find a suitable location to install them. After consulting with the client and viewing the vehicle, we decided that it would be optimal to mount the subwoofers in the floor cavity under the rear seat (normally saved for tool storage.)
Other Projects These are installs that were not as complex as the above vehicles, such as upgrading interior speakers, etc. |
